Long Lane Independent Methodist Church has resumed its programme of Sunday and midweek services, activities and social events in its church, hall and grounds and welcomes all visitors.

We continue to abide by the latest laws and advice from the UK government with regard to the safe use of the grounds, rooms and facilities within our premises.

The wearing of face coverings in enclosed or private spaces is a matter for personal judgement. It is no longer required by law.

The church is open every Sunday…

  • 11:00am till 12:15pm for formal friendly morning worship;

  • 6:30pm to 7:46pm for informal, evening fellowship.

    All are welcome.

Devotions may consist of speaker-led and/or ‘open’ prayers, bible readings, communal singing (optional) of hymns and songs with hymn books, ‘live’ music-group accompaniment, an address/sermon/message of faith by a preacher/speaker/minister and shared testimonies (optional) .

Free informal refreshments (optional) are available at the end of each morning service and before evening fellowship so that people can chat. A quiet room is available for anyone who would like some private prayer time or to have a church leader pray with them before they leave.

SUMMARY OF CURRENT ARRANGEMENTS

* The wearing face coverings is not compulsory.

* Hand sanitizers in key places will still be available for use throughout the premises.

* There is no requirement for distanced seating for individuals or family ‘bubbles’. Visitors may, however, at their own discretion, request separate seating arrangements.

* The identities of all visitors for ‘Track & Trace’ procedures is no longer required. The onus is on individuals and it is their personal responsibility to declare and manage their health conditions and to isolate and report as necessary any Covid-related symptoms and positive test results.

Communion

We know that our regular act of Holy Communion will be missed by many who cannot attend our Sunday church services to celebrate the Lord’s Supper with others. so we have offered on this website the opportunity to partake of the sacraments in your home via a special online service. If you would like to do this, click here.

ONLINE WORSHIP

For those who are unable to attend Sunday devotions ‘live’ in the church, we are currently offering a wide variety of video and audio teaching, prayers, sermons and praise materials on our Listen & Watch and From The Pulpit pages.

We are a community that reaches out to vulnerable people, yet we do not want to put them at risk. If you feel you have symptoms, please consider alternative ways to help those in need beyond visiting and close proximity.
